Imagine you are responsible for working out how to manufacture the valve body for the first time. You are to submit a report detailing how the valve body will be manufactured, including pictures/drawings of the valve at critical stages of the process. A basic economic analysis is also required to help determine the manufacturing cost.

Explain two general ways the part could be made citing known resources at Fort Vale Engineering. (20 marks)
State which manufacturing method from part a. is the best. Explain your choice. A good explanation will consider economic factors, manufacturing practicalities and design specifications/tolerances. (20 marks)
With the aid of figures (I recommend exporting pictures from solidworks models), explain how the part (or parts if you think it is assembled) changes for each main manufacturing step: E.g. Injection moulding, Casting, Welding and Machining etc. (20 marks)
Provide a costing for the manufacture, including labour, materials, overheads and mark-up. (20 marks)
